Our Position
Medical Science Liaisons engage in balanced, objective scientific exchange with health care professionals in an effort to facilitate scientific discovery and informed treatment decisions.
Responsibilities:
Review emerging data with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) in a balanced and objective manner, discussing benefits and risks.
Collaborate with HCPs on scientific activities aligned with corporate projects such as advisory boards, speaker programs, and clinical trials.
Identify HCPs with expertise to collaborate on innovative research identified in strategic planning.
Provide insights into regional HCPs, their practices, and key issues in disease treatment.
Serve as regional subject matter experts in product lifecycle management across therapeutic areas.
Discover research opportunities with HCPs and connect them to the Medical Advisor for Externally Sponsored Research (ESR).
Support key clinical trial sites by offering scientific expertise on the molecule being investigated.
Work with clinical operations groups to ensure the successful recruitment of clinical sites.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this role must have the ability to effectively synthesize and communicate scientific information at a peer level with a physician. They should be able to connect with the HCP using the appropriate level of communication that facilitates the relevant exchange of scientific information.
An advanced degree or equivalent experience (PhD, MD, or PharmD) with industry experience or equivalent (>5 years) or MSL experience
Preferably two years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a physician-facing role
Excellent ability to learn and capacity for scientific concepts and knowledge
Effective and demonstratedstrong communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills
Proven track record of working in a self-directed manner
Experienced knowledge of the health care environment with regards to Opinion Leaders, Academia, and the Medical Community in general
Travel required (Local, Regional, and National).
Previous MSL experience within hematology and/or oncology is preferred; experience in hematological malignancies would be an asset
